3 table settings for every occasion

So you’ve picked the venue. Tick! We all want the most memorable time for our guests. A moment that takes their breath away. Through some clever styling tips and tricks, your table decorating doesn’t need to be expensive or over the top with rare florals or crystal glassware. We’ve pulled some of our favourite table settings for the year that will transform all occasions whether it’s an intimate party with close friends or a bustling wedding reception.

From foraged foliage to rustic linen, tall stem candles and found ceramics, there are many ways to create a table scape that talks to your specific event and personality.

Portofino Pleasure

Channel a little bit of your inner Italian grandmother into this table setting with Mediterranean blues and whites, scattered lemons, randomly shaped wine glasses (filled with rosé of course), dripping candles in brass antique holders and flowers that look like they were picked from the field next door. This table setting is one to take you back to your roots of pleasure. To hero community and connection and the hours spent over bottles of wine discussing life and travel. The more worn in look this table has, the better. Don’t even bother with a table cloth but instead, use hearty linen napkins of terracotta or olive green to tie in more texture. Cutlery that doesn’t match? Bingo! You’ve attained the perfect table setting for an afternoon in Portofino.

Shades of White

Starting with the simplest of styling, shades of white. Cotton, pearl and ivory… Tones of daisy creams, porcelain and stone. By layering these neutral tones, you can create depth and a clean and simple look. An understated elegance can be arranged through textures such as linen, pottery glazes and hand blown glassware. With finishes varying from candle wax to silky petals, it’s easier to pull off than you realise when you just pick a few key elements to highlight your table scape. Another way to let the colour of the food do the talking and draw attention to the charcuterie or feast that accompanies the crockery.

Country Side

Being a farmhouse venue, we couldn’t have a table scape without incorporating a ‘farm to table’ aesthetic. This trend is versatile, so work with your seasonal foliage, fruit and produce to bring everything from nasturtiums to olive springs, potted rosemary, juicy grapes or spring time lavender onto the table. It’s a fun way to share with guests what has been used in the meal being served or create a connection between your local farmer and your dinner party. For a little extra elegance, add some tall pillar candles or gold cutlery and use a white table cloth for a blank canvas to build upon. Enjoy the process of discovering your seasonal veg and experience the joy of styling with textural leaves and shades of green. Add height to your arrangements with pots and planters, log stumps and vases. It’s rustic, it’s wild, it’s fun. Embrace the unruliness of nature and you can’t mess this one up.
